Samsung has faced fierce competition in the budget smartphone segment with the likes of Xiaomi and Vivo providing compelling alternatives to Samsung. Xiaomi in particular has been growing at an impressive rate with its market share increasing by the day. This growth is down to the aggressive pricing of their smartphones which makes it difficult to ignore. Quality is no more a negative to these Chinese companies due to how far they have come. The quality of their phones rivals that of Samsung in almost every hardware aspect.

Samsung had to respond to this, and they did. The Galaxy A lineup of devices provides some great specs for the price they come at. This worked as the A51 of last year was amongst the best-selling smartphones from last year.  They recently released the A52 and A72 which come with impressive specs as well.

Despite how good the Chinese brands have gotten in terms of hardware, there is one thing that Samsung is better than them at, and that is software. The importance of software can not be understated in smartphones today and with everyone getting good at the hardware side, you need to stand out and one way to do that is to get good at your software game. Gone are the days where having the most cameras on a phone will make you unique. Nowadays, you will find it hard to get an android device with less than three cameras, and therefore having the most number of lenses isn't as impressive as it used to be. Samsung has been steadily improving its software experience over the years. They have gotten to a point where they are amongst the best at it. From their image processing to the features provided by One UI puts the experience you get on a Samsung phone on a high level.

The icing on the cake is the three years of software support. This gives you peace of mind knowing you can use the latest Android operating system three years after getting your mid-range device. Yes, you may need to pay just a little bit more compared to other devices at this level but for what you get, it is certainly worth it.
