OnePlus Nord: Back to their Roots...the OnePlus we knew.

OnePlus

Oneplus started with the reputation of a flagship killer company focused on making amazing devices capable of offering top-notch performance while going for low prices. But as they gained popularity, it seemed like the company had moved on from that strategy and started producing true flagships which left core fans and enthusiasts let down thinking the company had lost "their way". Fans will be excited to know that's not the case as teasers show the company is still dedicated to making value for money smartphones. A teaser from Carl Pei somewhere last week points to a $299 price tag for the base model of this upcoming smartphone.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau

Oneplus CEO Pete Lau confirmed in a forum post that the company is working on a more affordable smartphone line. He went on to state that this line of phones will be introduced in India and Europe first before making its way to other parts of the world like North America. The color of the device was teased on Twitter some days ago and it seems it may come in a teal color.

OnePlus 8 Pro

The name of the device has not been confirmed yet with some rumors  stating it may be called the Oneplus Nord, Oneplus 8 Lite, or Oneplus Z. Android Central in a recent post suggested that the device will have a dual 32MP+8MP camera setup up-front, with 32MP lens being the primary with a wide-angle 8MP lens, all found at the top left corner of the screen.

The smartphone is rumored to be coming with a Snapdragon 765G instead of the top of the line Snapdragon 865 which makes sense since the later is more expensive a would have increased the cost of the phone. If you are a fan of high refresh rate screens, then Oneplus has you covered. Leaks point to a 90Hz AMOLED display which would offer a smooth experience.

The launch event of this OnePlus device is just two weeks from now so we expect to get more information as it gets closer. The ‘OnePlus Nord” would be a nice addition to the  OnePlus devices already released this year and would mean, there's a OnePlus device for everyone.
