Finally, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has been unveiled in all its
glory at Samsung's Unpacked event. Let's pretend we did not know about 90% per cent of the details of this device. All that we knew about this the device has been confirmed at the official release with some little information
we did not know about this monster of a device. Here are the specs:
- 6.9-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X
- Infinity-O Display (3200X1440)
- HDR10+ certified
- Up to 120Hz refresh rate support
- Snapdragon 865
- 16GB RAM
- 512GB internal storage
- 12GB LPDDR5 RAM
- 12MP Ultra Wide
- 108MP Wide-angle
- 48MP Telephoto
Is it safe to say that this
is Samsung's most powerful smartphone ever made? Same of us have been wondering
why Samsung's selling high tech components to their competitors while they
hesitate to use such components themselves, well that ends with the ultra. The
price certainly matches the specs of the Ultra at $1400, and it will be
available on March 6th with pre-orders starting on February 21st
.
All the S devices including the S20 Ultra and will support
5G in us and other select markets.
This shows that Samsung is ready for
the 5G “revolution” and are not getting left behind by their competitors. As
stated in previous posts about this device, if you want a device that no other
smartphone can compete with in terms of specs then look no further.
From the
120Hz refresh screen to the 108mp main camera of the ultra puts it in an
unrivalled position, at least for now. Oh, and do not forget the 100x zoom.To
achieve this zoom, Samsung has done something similar to what Huawei did with theP30 which they are calling “folded” zoom lens. Basically light hits a prism and
then is redirected across the phone to the sensor. The selfie camera has been
moved to the centre with a smaller punch hole compared to the note 10, and the
back camera now has a more pronounced rectangular bump which accommodates the
various sensors. 8K video recording and editing are also available with improved
stabilization.
Even though this device has every spec available to a smartphone
in 2020, it lacks the headphone jack. This really is the end of the jack. If Samsung
has ditched it, then don’t expect any flagship to have one from here onwards. The curved screen of the device is not as aggressive which
helps reduce accidental touches. Apart from the insane specs, the ultra will
feel like your normal Samsung device it terms of software.
You get all
the cool features and ease of use the one UI provides. It is no doubt that the Ultra is for the power users who
want the absolute best of everything and that is what you'll be getting with
this device.
