Google announced some new features coming to the google assistant which is in keeping with what they have been doing for a couple of years now. Google's Assistant has come a long way since its debut in 2016 and has a lot more features than what it began with, which contributes to the whole android experience.
Easier smart home setup: Google is going to remove the step where you need to RE-enter your google credentials when connecting to a home setup. A notification or “suggestion button” will be shown which will enable you to complete you’re the setup with ease.
Google is dedicated to making it better year on year and they are staying true to that course with these new additions which are coming to the Assistant soon. Below are the new features you can expect to be available in updates in the next few months.

Scheduling actions: when this update is live, using will be able to tell Google to perform certain actions at the time of their choosing. For example, you can say “Hey Google, start playing PlayList 1 at 12pm”, which will be very useful.
More Google Assistant support for smart devices: more devices are getting google assistant support including Smart Locks, Philips Hue , GE and more. You will also be able to control 20 more new devices through the Google Home app.
Notes and Speed dial: with the new upcoming update, you will be able to leave notes on any compatible smart device without having to sign in, or even have an account. Also, you can assign certain contacts to “speed dial” list so every at home can have access to it. They just have to say “Hey Google, call [name of contact]” and it will be done. This will be very useful in emergency situations.
Support for reading online content: android users will soon be able to tell google assistant to read out a full web page out to them, with google promising that the assistant will be intelligent enough to leave out elements like social sharing buttons.
Deleting your interactions with the assistant: google wants you to feel safer and therefore, you will be able to delete your history. Saying “Hey Google, delete everything I said this week”, will do exactly that while saying “Hey Google, that wasn’t for you” will delete anything you said after mistakenly triggering google assistant.
Support for Android TV: you will be able to buy Samsung smart TVs this year with google assistant on them. Some models of Hisense and TCL tellies will be getting far-field mic support like some of the new LG TVs, which means you can use them just as you would a smart speaker or display.
