For the first time, Netflix is introducing a feature which is not even on the web app, the variable video playback speed option on select android devices to start with. Variable playback speed is a feature mostly common in Podcasts streaming apps like the Apple Podcast app on iPhone and other iOS devices, Spotify but very rare in video streaming services -- even not in YouTube.

I feel the reason why it isn’t a common feature in many video streaming apps is because, though very useful, so many people are not calling for it, or even if there are, it is not strong enough. Personally this is a very handy feature and I mostly use it in the VLC Media Player software on Windows so I believe it'll be a very important update to the app.
The new update will allow a Netflix subscriber on Android to increase the video speed 1.25 times & 1.5 times and decrease it by 0.75 times & 0.5 times in the app. If you're interested, this feature is not yet available to the public yet but a select few and there's no known way yet to sign up for it, so just hope your're picked or wait till it's ready for everybody.
Netflix introduced over 50 new movies and series in August, here's the full list. Not everybody can afford Netflix's monthly subscription so if you're in that category and will still want to watch TV series and movies legally for free, we have an article on that so do well to check it here. HBO also introduced a new way for everyone to watch some of their hand-picked shows without a subscription if you didn't know here's how.
