Google Assistant just got Legend-ary and is also available for iPhones/iPad

Google Assistant, what you ask to do stuff for you just by saying "Hey Google" or "Okay Google" just got better.
On 3rd April, Google officially announced the new voice cameo for Google Assistant and as in the rumours, it turned out to be John Legend. John's soothing voice can be triggered when you say to your device, "Hey Google, talk like a legend".

John Legend will respond to so many of your requests like asking for jokes, inquiring about the weather, wondering about John Legend’s music or even sing a birthday song! Don't worry if he doesn't, the stock voice will attend to your requests while he still records more query responses which will soon be added.

In case you didn't know, Google assistant is not only available for Android devices and other Google mobile (home) devices but is also available for Apple's iPhones and the iPad. Google can talk like a Legend even on those devices and here's how to get it.

  • First, head over to the App Store, find "Google Assistant" and install the latest version
  • Log into your Gmail (optional)
  • When you see the screen above, Tap "Add to Siri"
  • Next would be to record yourself saying "Okay Google"
  • Then test it out!
Note that, this will not replace Siri but if you want to use it, you need to trigger Siri then say, "Hey Siri Okay Google". Yes, that's the only downside but it works perfectly and should not be a problem for those of you coming from Android.
