Google announced Android 9 Pie on August 6, 2018, and It was a complete overhaul to the system. Changes were made to the UI and the gestures. New features such as swiping out of apps and multitasking were a welcomed addition to the Android ecosystem and talks of the next version of Android are already gathering pace. The new Android system will be called android Q since we know Google's naming scheme.

FEATURES (RUMORED)
Android Q bring minimal changes to android P but still brings some noticeable changes such as,
-DARK MODE
Google now gives you the option to toggle between dark mode and light mode(normal). This addition will help people with devices that utilize LED screens to save power and have better battery life.
-BUILT-IN SCREEN RECORDER.
Screen recording is a feature that has been present on IOS for some time and users of android had to download third-party applications to use this feature but that could soon change with Android Q.
-MORE EMOJIS FOR SPECIFIC PEOPLE.
Adds new emojis for Android Q such as emojis for a deaf person, emojis for a skunk and many more in addition to skins.
-VULKAN API FOR UI RENDERING FOR BETTER BATTERY LIFE AND ANIMATIONS.
Depending on how this technology is done, the end result could mean better battery life and smoother animations and transitions.
-NO ANDROID BEAM.
Android had a feature called 'ANDROID BEAM' which is a capability built into android devices that utilize NFC to send or basically teleport anything from one phone to another. It was first introduced in the Ice Cream Sandwich version of android which was released in 2011 but has been removed in Android Q.
WHAT THE "Q" STANDS FOR?
Google has a history of naming its android version after desserts and android Q will mostly follow that trend. Quesadilla, Quiche, and Quinoa are fan favourites but Google has other options like Quesito, Qurabiya, Quaker Oats, Quenelle, Quinoa Pudding and some others.
These were the major changes spotted in the leaked build of Android Q and we do expect to see a lot more additions and changes as well. It is worth noting that these features can be taken forward or removed with the next few Android Q builds and may or may not make their way over to the official stable Android Q build.
